 | 19th Jun 2005 | Wildlife of the marsh
Romney Marsh and the surrounding area has a wide and varied selection of wildlife. Dungeness attracts many a passing migrant bird along with the odd seal and dolphin whilst inland Little Egrets from the Med may often be seen along the many waterways that make up the Marsh.
The woods along the canal contain Wildboar and there have been numerous sightings of big cats in the area including Puma's and Civet cats.
Marsh frogs are common across the marsh as are partidge, pheasants and badgers.

 | 20th Dec 2005 | St Marys Bay - The Beach
The Beach at St Marys Bay is a fine shallow beach of golden sand. It stretches along to Dymchurch in the East and Littlestone in the West although the best section is undoubtedly between Dymchurch and the Rugby Club at St Marys Bay.
In Summer, a few huts on the promenade provide refreshments along with ice creams and beach items.
On a busy day it can resemble the Spanish Costa's.

 | 13th Jan 2006 | Rye and Rye Harbour
The historic port of rye, sitting at the edge of Walland Marsh, and the smaller village of Rye Harbour sit upon the River Rother and Brede, which enter the harbour just downstream from Rye harbour. Fishing is still an industry here and at Rye Harbour there is a large nature reserve that includes the remains of Camber Castle.
Rye itself, is a pleasant old town with plenty of antique shops as well as tea shops and an excellent market on Thursdays. There is also a wide variety of normal! shops most of whom are independantly owned and not the normal high street chains.

 | 16th Dec 2006 | Lifeboats of Dungeness
The Lifeboats at Littlestone and Dungeness provide a vital emergency service to the vessels in the English Channel. Because of its stony and barren nature Dungeness is also an ideal location to test new prototype lifeboats such as the one shown here.

Romney and Walland Marshes are major sheep rearing areas and in the Spring the Marshes are populated by thousands of young spring lambs.

Magical, mysterious, bleak, desolate, beautiful, ROMNEY MARSH, surrounded by the hills of the old shoreline is a special place. The Children's Paradise of Dymchurch and the Golden Sands along and through St Mary's Bay are a mecca for beach lovers, whilst Dungeness is a popular location for sea anglers.
Winding its way along the edge of the marsh, The Royal Military Canal runs from Hythe, through West Hythe, Ham Street and Appledore before reaching the sea again at Rye.
Along its banks there are many pleasant walks, with views of Lympne Castle at West Hythe, where there is a car park. Bird life is all around and apart from the Heronary in the trees, Kingfishers can often be seen fishing along its banks.
